Definitely more hum than my last turntable. I like my music loud and when I turn up the amp, the hum is so loud that is actually competes in decibel with the grooves of the record. I understand that some hum is expected, but this overbearing LOUD hum. I was thinking the RCA/grounding wire attached to the TT could have gone kind of sour. A rolling tyre emits something in the range of 67 to 77 decibels. While this doesn't seem like a huge range, in reality, there is quite a difference in sound levels between the upper and lower ends of that range. The impact of tyre noise is not, of course, only external to the car. It will impact drivers and passengers too. Jun 5, 2023 Ā· Noise exposure time. Noise Pollution Calculator is a tool that helps you to protect yourself from hearing loss. It gives you the maximum noise exposure time for a specified intensity level measured in decibels [dB]. If you work in a noisy place every day, are a fan of loud rock concerts, or are a regular club session participant, check out our Jul 26, 2022 Ā· The above Noise Level Decibels Chart is for reference and take these values with a grain of salt. That being said, any noise over 85dB is loud and harmful to the ears. Overexposure to noise above 70dB for an extended period can cause severe damage to human ears and may even lead to permanent hearing loss. Mar 21, 2012 Ā· dB = 20 * log10 (amplitude) The amplitude in this case is expressed as a number between 0 and 1, where 1 represents the maximum amplitude in the sound file. For example, if you have a 16 bit sound file, the amplitude can go as high as 32767. So you just divide the sample by 32767. 85 db is safe to listen to. Anything above it is a problem. You say you have tested using a ā€œsound meter appā€ but those don’t work, not unless you have the exact phone and exact headphone model that the app is calibrated to. It’s usually EarPods that are the target, so I highly doubt it will read the level correctly for the DT 770. .
